Bangkok Shutdown

In a move that wasn’t unexpected that comes the same day as Thailand reported its largest daily increase in coronavirus infection on Saturday, with 89 new cases taking the total known cases to 411.

Bangkok Metropolitan Authority has decided to close the following venues from 22nd of March to April 12th.

Full list of closures in Bangkok from Mar 22 to Apr 12:

– spas, massage parlours, beauty salons, barbershops

– pet salons

– skate parks

– bowling centres and arcades

– Internet cafes

– golf courses and driving ranges

– swimming pools

– tattoo shops

– at-home nanny and nursery services

– amulet shops

– cockfighting venues (not what you think)

– conference and exhibition venues

– non-food markets

– shopping malls (except supermarkets)

– already closed: schools, universities, cram schools (both public and private)

NOT CLOSED: supermarkets, wet markets that sell food, restaurants (takeaway and delivery only)
