Thailand To Reopen? – Govt Eyes July 1 lockdown End

NSC secretary-general Gen Somsak Roongsita told the Bangkok Post yesterday that lifting restrictions under the emergency decree would lead to a complete reopening of the country. Officials would next month prepare measures for the reopening.

Plans to completely lift the closure of all businesses could be implemented from July the 1st if plans put forward get the go ahead Gen Somsak Roongsita has said.

The plans would put an end to the curfew and inter-provincial travel would be deemed safe, as well as the much derided emergency curfew coming to an end.

“Authorities will have serious discussions because after the emergency decree ends, other laws will be used instead,” he said.”People’s cooperation is important. This concerns the use of face masks, social distancing, hand washing and limiting activities. As long as the disease is spreading worldwide, we will have to fight against it for some time.”
