They Came, They Saw and They Conquered

The 2018 Fexco Asian Gaelic Games was once again hosted by Thai GAA in the Thai capital of Bangkok. On the weekend of the 17th and 18th teams from all over Asia came and took part in what was to be a great event.

To be honest this was my first time watching Gaelic football and I was mesmerized at how skillful and tough this game looks ( will defiantly be watching more of it). The games took place in 3 Thai international schools,Patana, Berkley and St Andrews and they were a great credit with the facilitates they have, also in amongst the spectators was the Irish Ambassador to Thailand Mr Tony Cotter.

The food was put on by the likable team from Shenanigans Irish Sports-bar who had also sponsored the Thailand entry into the games.

A surprise of the tournament was the SA Gaels Gaelic team, the ladies and mens team both took their division titles with a performance of strength and skill, and the dancing brought smiles from everyone.
Over the weekend there were no losers, a great event to cover and one I hope I am asked back to.
